Temple of Poseidon

EO91, Lavreotiki 195 00, Greece

Heading south from Athens is many scenic sights to see. There are many small cities south of Athens boasting great architecture and a variety of restaurants and resorts.  Several small beaches down the coast of Greece provide rest and relxation. Each beach is accompanied by a resort or beach bar/shack where you can grab a bite, a drink, and rent an umbrella.

One hour from the city of Athens we came to Cape Sounion in Sounio. Cape Sounion is known for the Temple of Poseidon. The Temple stands alone about 200ft above the sea.

Entry will cost you 8€. You can enter the site anytime between 9am and sunset.

The climb is not too difficult before you begin to see magnificent views of the city below.

The Temple is filled with columns and views from all angles. As you explore the temple you can see clear blue Aegean Sea all around.

The cliffs offer perfect backdrops for photos.

As you head back down there is a restaurant, gift shop, and restroom for visitors.

Sunio beach is located just down the mountain. After visiting the Temple, you can enjoy a nice swim, there are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to rent.

The Temple of Poseidon is another piece of architecture worth seeing. It is only an hour from Athens, offering fantastic scenic views on the way. The view from the top makes the trip well worth it.

I’m not sure why but this site is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

You actually make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be actually one thing that I believe I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely vast for me. I am looking forward to your next submit, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
