One Northern Virginia Restaurant is Celebrating the Holidays with All You Can Eat Sushi!

I enjoy good sushi and Sushi Rock is good sushi!

My first time at Sushi Rock was for an AYCE (All You Can Eat) Memorial Day Holiday Celebration. I was lucky to make it into this sold out event. I hadn’t had AYCE sushi in years and I came hungry.

Sushi Rock is conveniently located near the Court House metro, though I drove and found no issues finding parking. There was also free street parking for the holiday so was I free to enjoy my sushi without worrying about refilling a meter.

The decor inside matches the name perfectly. Sushi Rock is adorned with musical instruments. I love the bright red guitar on the wall and the drumsticks lining the bar. I’m a music lover so this pulled at my heart strings for sure.

You can grab a seat downstairs to be up close and personal with the sushi or take advantage of the view from the second floor. I found a nice seat up top and headed down for my sushi.

The sushi line was wrapped around the restaurant. As I waited my turn I got to explore the beautiful decor but more notably, I had the opportunity to see the sushi making right in front of my eyes. The sushi chefs were slicing fresh fish oh so thin, rolling tight rolls, and sprinkling bits of goodness on top.

Passing the full bar I finally made my way to the sushi table. Not only we’re there rolls, but a variety of other options, salad, chicken, edamame, and BULGOGI SLIDERS! I was beyond excited that the owner brought a tray of these out just as I was about to head back to my seat.

Now for the rolls. As plates emptied the owner and his great staff were putting new plates down. I tried the Stairway to Heaven, You Shook Me All Night, , tuna, yellowtail, and unagi (eel). I did not get to try this bright and interesting looking roll called the Light Up My Fire Roll. I thought I would get in at least two plates, possibly three (I was kidding myself). I had one pate, which was delicious and surprisingly super filling.

Sushi Rock has a great drink menu and at the top of the list for me was sake. I love a nice extra hot sake but we are getting into summer so I thought I’d give a chilled sake a try. I ordered the Perfect Snow, Nigori and wow!

So I think I may have only drank chilled sake once or twice, but the presentation was perfect and made me immediately want to order another.

Pouring the bottle of perfect snow sake

We poured our first cup and tasted the sweetness of the drink. We then realized we were supposed to shake up the bottle, rookie mistake. This beautiful white snow mixed with the clear liquid and we were left with a concoction with a coconut milk tint. Shaking the sake brought out a creamy, full bodied, richness.

Perfect Snow Sake, sweet and rich

Now some places that present an all you can eat menu are not able to maintain the quality of the food. This was not the case with Sushi Rock. Everything I tried was delicious and made fresh. From the bulgogi sliders to the creative rolls and the smooth sake. Great service was the icing on the cake.

If you have the opportunity, take advantage of the all you can eat sushi. I hear there may be another AYCE celebration for the Independence Day Holiday, July 4th. Follow Sushi Rock on their social media to stay up to date on all of their events. I will for sure be keeping an eye out for their next AYCE celebration.

Sushi Rock is located at 1900 Clarendon Blvd Arlington, VA.

My Picks:

Bulgogi Sliders

Unagi

Stairway to Heaven

Perfect Snow Sake

Nice For:

Dining In

Happy Hour

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. But just imagine if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this blog could undeniably be one of the most beneficial in its niche. Very good blog!

I have realized that online education is getting common because obtaining your college degree online has turned into a popular alternative for many people. A large number of people have not necessarily had an opportunity to attend a normal college or university however seek the raised earning possibilities and career advancement that a Bachelor’s Degree grants. Still other people might have a degree in one field but would like to pursue some thing they now possess an interest in.
