A List of Black-Owned Businesses in DC, Maryland, and Virginia

Now more than ever it is important to support small businesses. In particular black-owned businesses tend to build their companies from the ground up, with nothing but their personal savings. Often times any profits are reinvested back into the business. With the onset of the pandemic, current protests, property destruction, and violence, we must take care of those things we hold dear, and for me that is small businesses, specifically black-owned businesses.

I’ve compiled a list of black-owned businesses across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia as a resource for myself and anyone else who wants to support a black-owned business.

*Note: This is not a comprehensive list. I will be updating the list regularly and adding more businesses as my research continues and as I receive suggestions from all those using this list as a resource. Please feel free to comment with suggested additions. Additionally, though my list will include restaurants, please visit Feed the Malik for a growing list of DC’s Black-Owned Restaurants Open During COVID-19.

My developer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on several websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.
